A low-conviction read on Patriots at Bears: smart money across the game pointed to a Bears win but no blowout. We took NO on Bears by 15+. The Bears won by 6.
The read
Nobody ranked was on the big Bears lines, so there was no smart money to follow directly. Across the whole game, though, every smart-money position pointed the same way: a Bears win, but not a blowout.
| Market | Smart money | What it suggested |
|---|---|---|
| Total points | Level 1, $2,470 on the under 51.5 | A lower-scoring game |
| Spread | Level 1, $969 on Bears by 3+ | A Bears win, nothing bigger |
| DeMario Douglas 4+ catches | Level 4, $1,218 on YES | The Patriots' passing game stays involved |
The trade
200 NO on "Bears win by 15 or more" at 85¢. We called it low conviction up front: no smart money on this exact line, light signals, and an inference rather than a direct read. The plan was to sell early for a small gain.
The result
The Bears won by 6. That was enough for the Level 1 position on Bears by 3+, and nowhere near the 15 points our NO needed to lose. The game stayed within two scores the whole way, so instead of selling early we held to settlement and collected the full payout.
| In | Out | Profit |
|---|---|---|
| $170.00 | $200.00 | +$30.00 (+17.6%) |
Holding was the better outcome this time, but the plan still matters: on a low-conviction trade, being ready to take a smaller gain is what keeps one bad read from costing $170.
It's on the Track Record with every other trade, wins and losses alike.
